Asherah - the girl who already started life out on an adventure!

Asherah “Ash" is our third Canaan Dog. After much thought, research and waiting for the right Canaan addition to our pack we decided on “Ash”. Her breeders are Donna and Jackie Davison of D&J Ha’Aretz Canaan Dogs in Du Quoin, Illinois. Over the years, we had met Donna and Jackie at various shows  in the United States. We had met and showed with some of their dogs and were impressed with their lines and temperaments. One female in particular caught our fancy “Vala”, who is owned by Chris Miller of River Rock Canaan Dogs in Georgia. We were happy to hear that the Davisons would be breeding Vala’s dam to Tip Top and our Ash was born.

B efore making her way to her new home in Raven, Alberta, Ash stayed with Annabel and Adam Lombard in beautiful Fromberg, Montana. She flew with her littermate “Lacy” to make the flight more comfortable. Annabel and her family have brought so much socialization to our Ash. Since it was lambing season, she was introduced to her first woolie creatures, a beagle named Trixie, their older Canaan male named Jake, chickens , and barn cats. We couldn’t have asked for a better early adventure for our new girl! Thank you Annabel and Adam!

W e are looking forward to watching her grow and develop. She has the conformation and temperament we want in a Canaan, and look forward to using her in our breeding programme in the future. We also look forward to training her in the footsteps of our other Canaan Dogs in performance – the Canaan has so much potential!
