and
JK Maccabee Northern Warrior "Macc"

to lay our foundation for Sufat Sheleg Canaan Dogs. Macc and Cybelle compliment one another beautifully in type, temperament, and performance abilities. Our foundation bitch and stud dog are certified cleared of hip dysplasia (OFA) and clear of eye defects (CERF). They are both registered with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) and American Kennel Club (AKC).To learn about our foundation dogs, please visit the link for Our Canaan Dogs.
This breeding encompasses some of the oldest Canaan Dog blood lines in Israel, United States, Italy, and Canada : Ha’Artez (U.S.), Sha’ar Hagai (Israel), SouthAlta (Canada), Gray Mesa (U.S.), Pleasant Hill (U.S.), and Velikaya (Italy). If you would like to be considered for our 2009 litter or for a future planned litter, please read the details below.
Priority on our reserved list will be given to homes who are interested in following
a raw diet
and limited vaccination protocol. Please visit our health sectionto learn about our diet, exercise, and socialization philosophy for our Canaan Dogs. As breeders, we offer mentorship and guidance for those
interested in learning about a natural approach to canine health - we provide a comprehensive menu plan for our placements. Owners of our previous litter are appreciating the benefits of a
natural diet and taking comfort in knowing exactly what is going into their dog's system.
Also
homes that are considering performance venues such as agility, herding, rally-obedience, formal
obedience, tracking, etc.,
are high on our priority list. A Canaan loves families who want to provide physical and mental stimulation! Our passion for performance sports really helped to strengthen the bond with our
CDs!
We make a point of getting to know our potential pup owners far in advance to help further their education about the breed. We try to ensure that people purchasing our pups have the
best chance of success and each puppy finds the right home for their personality. All serious inquiries are asked to complete a Puppy Application Questionnaire which helps us evaluate and screen all potential homes. To learn more about what we look for in a potential home, please read our
Acquiring A Pupsection. Since the Canaan Dog is a rare breed, it is not unusual to wait 6-12 months for the right puppy. Being a primitve breed, the litter sizes
tend to be small - on average between 2-5 puppies.
